Reductil (Sibutramine) is a drug treatment to help those who are obese to lose weight.
Sibutramine reduces food intake by promoting a feeling of having eaten enough. Sibutramine may increase blood pressure in some people, therefore blood pressure should be monitored regularly.
Reductil works like other appetite suppressants on the market by increasing the amount of serotonin and catecholamine in the brain. Serotonin and catecholamine are two important chemicals that control mood and appetite. When levels of serotonin and catecholamine are raised, your appetite decreases. The normal recommended dose for Reductil is one 10 mg or 15 mg tablet a day at least one hour before your eat.
